Holy Cow Media was set up in August 2006 by Dr Sapna Samant.

The kaupapa (or philosophy/aims) are as follows:

  • To tell cutting edge stories across all media platforms especially focusing on the Asian diaspora and transcultural tales.
  • Provide writing skills and produce content across all media platforms-from print to radio to new digital spaces.
  • Act as cultural consultant and provide expertise in inter-cultural creative activities.
  • Implement media advocacy, prevention, health promotion and wellbeing through public services messages and social marketing.
  • Capacity building, education and mentoring of Asian-New Zealanders, indeed all New Zealanders.

HCM is interested in collaborations within New Zealand and across the globe.

We believe that the best creative work comes out of partnerships and teamwork, where each person is an expert in her area but directed towards the common goal of delivering an excellent product.

We also believe that each project should involve a lot of love and laughter,  some heartbreak and tears-apart from funding and finances.

Size does not matter as much as quality and setting benchmarks.

Good working relationships are important to us-as much as good work.
